Rancho Cucamonga is a wonderful place to live, raise a family, and build a business. I am running for Mayor to preserve our high quality of life while planning responsibly for our future.
I am not a career politician. I am an attorney with over 20 years of experience advocating for those without a voice. I'm also a small-business owner, and advocate who has spent more than two decades protecting individual rights and standing up for local families.

I am refusing special interest money. This campaign is funded solely by local residents and my own personal investment in our city's future.

A Clear Vision for Rancho Cucamonga
CAMPAIGN PLATFORM
Establish a Residents’ Advisory Council
City Hall decisions should never happen in a vacuum. Marjorie proposes a district-wide, volunteer Residents' Advisory Council to give everyday residents a direct voice before major planning votes.

Public review sessions on large city spending and zoning alterations.

Increased transparency and accessible evening/weekend town halls.
The Problem: Residents often discover major zoning updates or development proposals only days before final City Council votes. Residents don't feel heard at City Hall. Residents call, complain and voice their concerns but we are ignored.
Marjorie’s Solution: Create a Residents' Advisory Council comprised of volunteer residents that will voice their concerns and proposed solutions to the mayor, frequently and at length. This will also help to hold the mayor accountable to the residents.
Say NO to Unchecked Rapid Development
Growth must not outpace infrastructure. Unchecked commercial and dense residential expansion strain our roads, overcrowd local schools, and burden water and power utilities.

The Problem: Rapid high-density multi-family approvals put immense strain on major thoroughfares like Haven Avenue and Foothill Boulevard, and on our fire evacuation routes, our schools, our (very few) parks, and other amenities that are already at capacity.
Marjorie’s Solution: Demand that infrastructure comes BEFORE development. Implement strict policy checks ensuring developer impact fees directly fund localized road expansions, signal synchronization, and public safety staffing before construction begins.

Seeking funding to finish Central Park. Central Park must be finished so families can have a place to make memories without having to spend their hard earned money.

The Problem: Our infrastructure is old. Streets need repairs, sidewalks need maintenance, and parks need upgrades. To date, these issues have been placed on the back burner.
Marjorie’s Solution: Focus city capital improvement budgets strictly on core municipal infrastructure—street repairs, parks, public safety retention, and emergency readiness—rather than vanity projects.

She and her husband Steve Hamada bought their forever home in Rancho Cucamonga precisely because of the beautiful established neighborhoods in the city. As a practicing attorney with over 20 years of courtroom and legal negotiation experience in San Bernardino County, she understands how municipal law works and how to protect citizens' rights.
As a small business owner in Rancho Cucamonga, Marjorie experiences the exact same taxes, regulations, and traffic congestion that every local family and business owner faces daily.
