Rancho Cucamonga is a wonderful place to live, raise a family, and build a business. I am running for Mayor because I believe we can preserve the quality of life that makes our community so special while planning responsibly for the future.
I am NOT a career politician. I am a Rancho Cucamonga resident, attorney, small-business owner, and community advocate who has spent more than twenty years helping families solve difficult problems, protecting individual rights, and standing up for those who need a strong advocate.
As your Mayor, my three-point plan is simple:

Say NO to unchecked development and ensure that future growth respects our quality of life.

Establish a Residents’ Advisory Council so residents from every district have a meaningful voice at City Hall.

Make infrastructure and public safety keep pace with growth. We need enough law enforcement personnel, roads, parks, schools, and essential services to serve our community. I will advocate for development decisions that fully consider roads, public safety, parks, utilities, traffic, and other essential services--and I will work with our school districts and regional partners so growth is coordinated responsibly.
I am not running to serve special interests. I am running to serve YOU.
Together, we can say NO to unchecked development—and YES to residents having a real voice at City Hall.

A Little About Marjorie
People often ask me why I'm running for Mayor of Rancho Cucamonga. The answer is simple: because I love this city and I want to ensure that it remains beautiful and safe.
I've spent most of my life in the Inland Empire. The only time I left was to attend law school in Arizona. Shortly after graduating from law school, I was back in the Inland Empire because this area is where I wanted to build my career and my life.
I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Cal Poly Pomona before attending law school in Arizona. For more than 20 years, I have practiced law in San Bernardino County, helping individuals, families, and businesses solve complex legal problems. My career has taught me the importance of listening, analyzing difficult issues, finding practical solutions, and standing up for people when they need an advocate.
My husband, Steve, and I chose Rancho Cucamonga as our forever home because we fell in love with everything this community has to offer. We enjoy hiking, spending time outdoors, and taking advantage of the beautiful natural spaces that make Rancho such a special place to live. We especially love the Etiwanda Preserve.
Today, our lives are firmly rooted here. We are active members of One & All Church. My law practice is here in Rancho Cucamonga. Our Live Scan business is here. And we proudly support local businesses throughout our community. We live here, work here, worship here, exercise here and invest in Rancho Cucamonga because we believe in this city and its future.
Like many of you, I've experienced the challenges that come with rapid growth. I've sat in traffic on Haven Avenue. I've watched our infrastructure struggle to keep pace with development (e.g., the reduction of lanes on Haven Ave.) I've seen promised community improvements such as Central Park, unfulfilled. These aren't abstract policy discussions to me—they affect my family just as they affect yours. Those experiences are what inspired me to run for Mayor.
I believe residents deserve a stronger voice in the decisions that shape our community. Before I vote on any significant City project, I will ask two simple questions:

What do the residents of Rancho Cucamonga want?

Do they support this project?
Those questions will always be among the first and most important considerations before I cast my vote.
My Political Affiliation
Rancho Cucamonga's mayoral office is nonpartisan, but I believe in being honest with residents about my personal views. I am a conservative, I vote for Republican candidates, and my Christian faith guides my values. At the same time, if elected Mayor, I will serve every resident fairly and respectfully--Republican, Democrat, Independent, or otherwise. Local government must focus on the issues that affect all of us: safe neighborhoods, responsible growth, sound finances, reliable infrastructure, and responsive public service.
My Priorities as Mayor
If elected Mayor, first and foremost, I will ask God for wisdom to lead this city. Then, I will prioritize three things:
1. Protecting Our Quality of Life
Together with the residents, we must say NO to excessive development. Growth should never outpace infrastructure. Future development must be thoughtfully planned, legally compliant, and balanced with the needs of the people who already call Rancho Cucamonga home.
2. Giving Residents a Voice
I will propose the formation of a Residents' Advisory Council with representatives from every district who can communicate neighborhood concerns, identify needed improvements, and ensure residents have meaningful input before major City decisions are made. My interactions with residents will NOT stop the day I'm elected. I will continue to seek input from residents during my entire tenure.
3. Investing in Our Community
As Rancho Cucamonga continues to grow, we must invest in the infrastructure that keeps our city safe and vibrant, including roads, parks, public safety, and emergency services. Our schools, neighborhoods, and first responders should never be left trying to catch up after growth has already occurred. Therefore, improving our infrastructure will be one of my main priorities.
I am not running because I have all the answers. I am running because I believe good leadership begins with listening. A true leader must be a servant first. My commitment to YOU is this: to serve with integrity and
to put the residents of Rancho FIRST.
One More Note:
I will not overpromise and underdeliver. No mayor governs alone. The Mayor works with the City Council, the City Manager, city staff, and our residents to make informed decisions, and every decision must comply with the law.
I also believe we have a responsibility to protect the city's long-term financial health. Every taxpayer dollar should be spent wisely, carefully, and only where it provides real value to our community.
I believe in honesty, transparency, accountability, and common-sense leadership. Rancho Cucamonga already has so much to be proud of, that is why so many of us chose to make this our home. If something is not broken, we shouldn’t spend taxpayer dollars changing it. But where we have urgent needs—such as infrastructure, public safety, and ensuring residents have a stronger voice at City Hall—those are the priorities I will work to address immediately upon taking office.

YES to Residents Having a Voice at City Hall.
A Residents FIRST Approach
I will bring a Residents First approach to governing. Before voting on a major city project, I will carefully consider what residents want, whether the proposal complies with the law, what qualified professionals recommend, its financial and infrastructure impacts, and whether it serves Rancho Cucamonga's long term interests.

My husband, Steve, works as an insurance adjuster and has been working for the same company for almost 30 years.
Our son, Nicholas, is a junior at UC Irvine, majoring in mechanical engineering.
Our dog, Lucy, is simply precious. She's a Beagle that loves to bark and eat all the time.
